Originally from Lancashire, England, I began traveling seriously as a student of Spanish and Arabic at Cambridge University. After graduating, I worked for years in travel magazine publishing, covering Europe and the Caribbean, where I lived for a while.
On leaving publishing, I trained in classical Pilates, holistic nutrition and vegan cooking before establishing myself as a travel wellness consultant. I worked extensively with companies that have mobile work forces to keep them healthy on the road. Presenting at NASA was one of the most exciting highlights of that pre-COVID time.
I am the author of Mile High & Healthy: The Frequent Traveler’s Roadmap to Eating, Exercise, Energy and a Balanced Life (Story Farm, November 2015), hailed by Forbes.com as “A breakthrough book (…) taking the reader on a variety of journeys discussing everything from the physiological impacts of travel to detailed analysis of how travelers can wrest control of the chaos that constitutes today’s business trip.“.
In 2023, I joined ILX Travel, an affiliate of Travel Experts and a member of Virtuoso,® an organization of the top travel agencies, travel providers, and destinations worldwide. Through Virtuoso, ILX Travel is able to offer clients exclusive luxury amenities, upgrades, premium access, and experiences.
Choosing to specialize in wellness retreats and culinary vacations was an easy decision because it marries my experience and passions. When I’m not thinking about traveling, I teach dining etiquette to children and adults, and afternoon tea classes to all ages. I live in Vero Beach, FL, with my amazing chef husband, Michael Clifford, and our adorable dog, Spaniel L. Jaxson.
